歌曲背景介紹：



這支Say You Say Me 是Lionel Richie的代表作之一，

最早收錄於1986年的專輯Dancing on the Ceiling當中，

這首歌是他應邀為電影「飛越蘇聯」（White Nights）

譜寫一首同名的主題曲。他花了兩個星期的時間，發現自己

無法寫出那樣的一首歌，不過倒是譜成了另外一首他覺得可能

很適合該片劇情的歌曲，那也就是「Say You, Say Me」。

導演聽過之後，也非常喜歡，因此決定放在片子結尾。

結果，這首歌不但勇奪冠軍，更囊括了奧斯卡與金球獎雙料

的「最佳電影歌曲」。由於歌曲使用權的關係，

「Say You, Say Me」當年並沒有收錄在「飛越蘇聯」的

原聲帶專輯中，而出現於萊諾李奇1986年的第三張

個人專輯「Dancing on the Ceiling」裡面。

今天上課明志跟我介紹了三首歌，回到家就興致勃勃的開始找了起來，

我最先看到的是"Sometimes When We Touch" 這首，
這首歌的來頭不小，是由一位來自加拿大多倫多的創作歌手寫的，
"Sometimes When We Touch"是1977年由Dan Hill所發的單曲，
這首歌幫他打響了全球的知名度，更一舉拿下全美排行的第三名，
此外，這首歌後來也獲選為20世紀的百大西洋歌曲


特別提一下演唱人是Dan Hill，不是Sam Cooke。 
Sam Cooke是唱爵士樂，而非鄉村風格。
不過Sam Cooke也是很經典的一個歌手，
他唱的歌有兩首入選20世紀百大，以後有機會再慢慢介紹他。

Brief Bio of Dan Hill

Dan Hill was born in Toronto in 1954 to American Parents

who, as an interracial couple, moved to Canada to escape

the twin scourges of Racism and McCarthyism. They also

believed that Canada provided a better environment to

raise their family.

 

Dan began writing songs at age 14 and was playing professionally

in small gatherings and coffee houses by the time he reached 17.

Two years later he signed to GRT Records in Canada and so began

his quick rise to fame. It was the 1977 Longer Fuse (1977) and the single

"Sometimes When We Touch "that sealed Dan's international success.

It not only gave him his third Canadian Gold album,

it also won over the U.S. audience.

 

"Sometimes When we Touch" also gave Dan his first co-writing experience,

in this case with the highly talented and respected Barry Mann.

"We were brought together in almost blind date fashion."

Dan was named Top New Male Vocalist in both Cashbox and Record World:

won Juno awards for Composer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.

and was nominated for a Grammy in 1977.

Background Information of Jack Johnson 



Jack Johnson grew up in Hawaii.

He started playing guitar when he was 14.

Besides playing guitar, he loves surfing more. (衝浪)

Johnson had been a professional surfer until an accident,

in which he got more than 150 stitches (縫了x針)

to his mouth and forehead,  (額頭)

forcing him to take some time off. (休息)

He got his college degree as a film-director. (導演)

He also directed some surf films.

In the meantime, his music call the attention of music company which

pushed Johnson to record formal demos, (試錄) 

eventually leading to the release of Brushfire Fairytales in 2001.

"You've Got a Friend" is one of my favorite songs.

Whenever I listen to it, I thought of those loving and caring friends around me.

So this song is like a good friend to me.

No matter I was happy or sad; I'd feel understood through listening to the song.





"You've Got a Friend" is James Taylor's number one song.

It won two Grammys -- one for James (Best Pop Male Vocal Performance)

and one for Carole (Song of the Year).





The song, from the album "Mud Slide Slim And The Blue Horizon",

was recorded in the spring of 1971. The singer, James Taylor,

was born March 12, 1948, in Boston. He got some mental and

drug problems while he was younger. But there is no denying

that he is a perfect singer. The way he sang was plain, deep

Eric Clapton has been acclaimed as one of rock's greatest guitarists.









"I never met my father," Mr. Clapton told his biographer in 1985.

"And I realized that the closest I ever came to looking into my

father's eyes was when I looked into my son's eyes."









Like his father, Mr. Clapton has been known to change women often.

His brief affair with model Lori del Santo resulted in the birth of

Mr. Clapton's son, Conor.









Mr. Clapton's five-year-old son, Conor, plummeted to his death in

1991 from the 53rd floor of the New York City apartment of his mother,

Italian model Lori del Santo.









Missing the father he never knew, Conor's death pushed Mr. Clapton

旋律很棒，我也蠻喜歡的！

雖然是題外話，不過韓國人唱周杰倫的歌可真是好聽呢！

The singer is a black woman called Tracy Chapman.

Her voice is really nice and special, isn't it?

The first time I learned this song was at the age of 18.

That's why I felt you might like it as well.

It smoothed the wrinkles in my heart when I listened to it.
